![]() ![]() ![]() Last, the memory requirement is only up to 512 MB and considering you can run the current platform with 1 GB, it appears that hardware is not the limitation. I agree that the 5512-X is the go to device for gigabit connectivity, but the 5505 was never recommended for that so the comparison is apples to oranges. The 5505 platform currently supports all the way up to 9.2(2). Personally i think Cisco will end of life the hardware before Christmas. But i been moving my clients to the 5512 main reason i think the device performs much quicker plus here in Houston we deal with Gigabit wan connections all the time. Cisco has told partners that there 180 day waiting list for new ASA5505 orders and after 9.0.3 i dont see how the 5505 in it current hardware specs can run anything else.
